One Day International Oral Pathology Case Presentation Webinar



Excellence in sur gical pathology is closely dependent on extensive and in-depth knowledge of the multitude of clinical and histological presentations each pathology may develop. Gaining such experience is mostly reliant on reviewing a variety of case reports. However, it has become increasingly difficult to find platforms for sharing challenging and even rare case reports in recent years.  This event is being organized to provide a platform for case reports, emphasizing pathological presentation and diagnostic features.

This first of its kind event was successfully organized by eight independent organizations: Oral Pathology India, the Asian Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology (ASOMP), and five colleges Vishnu Dental College, V.S. Dental College & Hospital, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences,  Genesis Institute of Dental Sciences & Research and College of Dental Sciences, Davangere, that joined hands to promote Oral Pathology, through Collaboration and education. Attendee and Participation (presenter) certificates will be issued jointly by Oral Pathology India, ASOMP, and academic partners. 

ASOMP will include three cases that fulfill their criteria in the case series to be published on the web site.

Attendance: Anyone with a background in the health sciences and an interest in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology with valid registration for the event.

Abstract Submission for case presentation:

  • Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist with less than 8 years of experience.
  • Registration for the event
  • Selection will be based on submitted abstract by a panel of experts and will be final.
  • Submission date: 8th of February 2021

 Instructions for abstract submission:

  • Please send a structured abstract written in English.
  • The word limit for each abstract should not exceed 500 words.
  • Only one person can present the case report but can add two co-authors provided everyone is registered ( Coauthors do not need to be oral Pathologists or fulfill the early career requirements.
  • Abstracts submission last date- 8th February 2021

Abstract format:

  • Case presentations should follow CARE Format. Please refer to the CARE checklist for the information. https://www.care-statement.org/checklist
  • The main text should be fully justified with single spacing
  • Use 12 point Times New Roman for the text
  • The Title, Presenter name, Affiliations if any or name of clinic or center and email should all be added.
  • Please underline the name of the presenting person.
  • Registration details of all authors.

After submission of abstract:

  • You will receive an acknowledgment mail upon your submission.
  • The decision on the acceptance of your abstract will be intimated by 11th Feb 2021
  • Selected abstracts should submit their complete presentation by 18th February 2021.
  • Guidelines for case selection:
  • Cases with an unusual presentation, systemic involvement, complexity in diagnosis will be preferred.
  • Case where ancillary diagnostic procedures like unique staining/IHC/Molecular methods will have more preference.

Presentation format:

  • The presentation should be made in PowerPoint.
  • The presentation should be within 7 minutes, and 2 minutes will be allotted for discussion—no slide limit.
  • Case presentations should follow CARE. Format. Please refer to the CARE checklist for the information.
  • Ensure the case details, diagnosis, discussion is clear and concise.
  • Following Patient privacy and anonymity requirements is mandatory
  • Every case presentation should have a last slide mentioning the take-home message (clinical significance) of the case.
  • Only a brief review of literature of the particular diagnosis is recommended.
  • The discussion should be informative and specific.
